Happy Turkey Day!

Today we had Thanksgiving at our house with my mom, sister Christel, brother Ron and his 2 girls, and Ryan's sister Chelsea. I attempted to make the turkey but had to have Ryan take the neck and giblets out because just touching it made me sick, literally. Ryan thought it was hilarious so he had fun by trying to make me touch it. It turned out great once it came out of the oven. The girls helped me make the mashed potatoes, Jordis handed me the potatoe to peel and then Elise would drop them in the pot. It was so nice having a relaxing day with family. Mom and I worked on a couple Christmas decorations that I am making while the girls relaxed watching a movie. When it got dark we took the girls down to Locomotive park to see the lights. Last night we drove by them and they refer to it as "Christmas". All morning they kept saying they wanted to go see Christmas. They loved it, they didn't quite understand that they couldn't "play" in the igloo and train but they really liked jumping on the mat that changed the light colors. Tomorrow I will turn into one of those "crazy people" who get up before the crack of dawn to fight the crowds shopping. I have it all mapped out, I will go in this order: JcPenny 4am, Walmart 5 am, it's a toss up right now between shopko and Kmart at 6 am, staples after that, Tristate at 8am and Joann's somewhere in the day also. My mom took the girls home so I could do this, Thank you so much mom!. I am meeting Amanda at Walmart so she can get the $88 Barbie Jeep. I was considering it for the girls but they have one that was given to us so I guess free is better than $88. Well I am off to bed to try to get some sleep.

Potty training

Potty training is so frustrating!! Elise pretty much has it down with accidents here and there but Jordis on the other hand flat out refuses to do it. I've tried telling her that big girls don't wear diapers and she's 3 now so she has to be a big girl. I've tried bribery and so much more but she just says "I a baby, I wear diapers". Sunday I devoted to potty training for both of them, I put panties on both and set a timer to go off every 30 minutes. A couple times I even made her sit on the toilet for about 20 minutes but not even 2 minutes after she got up she peed on the floor. I don't know if it isn't registering in her little brain yet or what but I don't want to buy any more diapers, and I don't want a 3 year old still in diapers. Help!! People say she will do it on her own time but she only has until next september to figure this out because they will be starting preschool then. I would appreciate any suggestions.

Weekend happenings

I put one of those clickers on my blog to see how many people look at it just yesterday and it says that 35 people have checked my blog in less than a day, so I feel like I need to post more things more often. Our weekend started off by going to dinner at Bojacks with 4 other couple- friends for Dena and My birthday(which was yesterday). It was so nice to just sit and talk to everyone, even though we made the people at the table next to us leave, evidently we were getting a little loud:) Saturday the girls and I headed up to my mom's to go to my cousins wedding. His nephew Manny was there from Canada so I was excited. Manny and I used to hang out the summers that he would come down to visit his g-parents, now we don't see each other as often so it was really nice to see him and his new wife. Sunday my mom had an icecream cake for me and I opened presents from her. All day yesterday the girls kept singing happy birthday to me but were still a little confused about eating my birthday cake the day before when it wasn't really my b-day. I had a really relaxing b-day, I started reading the book Twilight was able to read about 180 pages by the time I went to bed. A bunch of us that have read the book are going to go see it in the theater when it comes out next week, it's a must read! Well that's about it for me, hopefully I will have pictures to post next time.

Trick or Treat

Elise as BelleJordis as Cinderella Ashlee and Tristan downtown with the girls

All of Gma Diane's daycare kids

This year I took the girls downtown to do a little trick or treating with Tristan and Ashlee. Despite the rain, the kids had a really good time and really got into it this year. After we left downtown, we went to the Veteran's home and 2 of our neighbors before ending up at the Frei house. The girls loved wearing there dresses and of course collecting lots of candy. Now I can put their dresses in with their other dress up clothes, they wanted to wear them so much before halloween that I had to hide them.
