A Day of New Discoveries

Yesterday we finally had a day off from everything so we decided to do some home improvement projects. I recruited my mom and sister to help me paint the twins room while Ryan had is friend Lee help him take down the ceiling in his room downstairs.(the ceiling had two huge holes in it from where they had to cut when the pipes broke. Well my day was filled with taping off the chair rail to paint it pink, and then I wanted the bottom half of the wall to be striped purple and yellow. I soon found out that houses are not built with straight or even walls. i finally got everything taped and we started to paint. When we were almost done the gallon of paint got tipped over. Well this is dicovery #1. To get paint out of your carpet use spatulas from you kitchen to scoop up as much paint and then if it is water based paint soap and water will bring it up. It takes about 2 hours or more to complete this. We just kept the carpet wet so we could put towels on it until all the paint was pulled up. You can barely see the paint this morning, yeah!! Discovery #2 happend downstairs in Ryan's room. After they pulled the whole ceiling down neighbor Bob was over looking at the paneling on the walls and discovered the ceiling went back pretty far on one of the walls. They found 2 latchs that opened one whole wall up. When they opened it they discovered a shallow closet/gun cabinet. It is only about 6 inches deep with some shelves on it. Bob said years ago a guy lived here that got fired from ATK for stealing so we think he put this wall in to hide whatever he was stealing. Ryan is excited because now he has a place to put his bow and his guns, (me too, now I don't have to worry about buying a gun safe). I will take pictures today and post them of the girls room all done and of the wall.
